A car burst into flames in Corby this morning (Friday, November 6) after a crash with a van.

The Ford Fiesta caught fire after a road traffic collision with a Renault van in Earlstrees Road, Corby, this morning and was reported to police at 7.45am.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said police and fire attended the scene and the road was closed while the fire was put out. A member of the public reported seeing three police cars and two fire engines at the scene.

Fortunately, there were no injuries although the road surface has been damaged.

The car has been recovered and the road is now open.
