As part of Dunelm’s national campaign, which has already delivered nearly a quarter of a million gifts over the last four years, Age UK Northamptonshire will be spreading the Christmas joy to nearly 40 older people in Northamptonshire this year.
Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for older people who may be struggling financially or feeling isolated. This partnership offers a way for the community to come together and provide thoughtful gifts that make a real difference.

Hide AdDunelm customers in Wellingborough have been picking up tags with gift requests from the Christmas tree which has been in the store foyer since November. The customer then purchases a suitable gift and returns it to the Dunelm store for Age UK Northamptonshire to collect. Some 37 beautifully wrapped gifts have been supplied by generous Wellingborough customers and Age UK Northamptonshire will ensure they reach their recipients in time for Christmas.

Items requested by older people range from winter essentials like hats, scarves, and toiletries to small treats such as chocolate bars and tea.
Christopher Duff, Chief Executive at Age UK Northamptonshire said: “We’re thrilled to be part of the Delivering Joy initiative this year. The simple act of giving a small gift can have such a powerful impact, particularly on older people who may be spending the festive season alone or facing financial hardship. Thanks to the customers of Dunelm’s generosity, we can help spread a little joy to those who need it most."
“We are also grateful to everyone at the Dunelm store in Kettering who are collecting donations for our charity shop in Stamford Road in Kettering,” added Chris.
