Faster, more reliable full fibre broadband available for 90,000 homes in Northampton with Zen

The lucky householders have access to the latest full-fibre broadband thanks to provider Zen Internet which partnered with the CityFibre network to roll out the super-fast service across the city.

Price pledge

Zen’s contract price promise guarantees no mid-contract price rises on its residential broadband packages, unlike other well-known providers, most of whom increased bills to customers by up to 8.8% in April.

As the broadband industry continues to enforce inflation-linked mid-contract price rises, new research from Zen reveals that almost half (49%) disagreed that they would consider a mid-contract price rise above inflation in their broadband contract fair, with three quarters (75%) in support of the proposed ban on this practice by telecoms regulator Ofcom.

In December regulator Ofcom announced a proposal to ban inflation linked mid-contract price rises, with a formal decision to be announced imminently.

Many people are put off switching providers because of the hassle – 27% according to Zen’s survey and the cost of switching (19%).

In the same survey, a third (34%) of respondents revealed that they would switch broadband provider but find it difficult to know where to go. With 90,000 households already able to access a top-quality broadband service over a new modern infrastructure in Northampton – with no more endless buffering, slow upload and download speeds and unreliable connectivity, that choice just got a whole lot easier.
