Should Prime Minister Boris Johnson's roadmap to lift lockdown restrictions - announced yesterday (February 22) - go according to plan, this means that all restrictions should be eased by June 21.
In light of this promising information, residents have started to make plans for summer and, if you are looking to start planning activities, Open Air Film and Chill are hosting a Covid-safe outdoor cinema at Delapre Abbey in July!
What better way to kickstart summer than snuggling under blankets with snacks and watching films on a large outdoor screen under the stars?
'The Greatest Showman' is scheduled to be shown on Saturday, July 10 followed by 'Grease', which is scheduled for Sunday, July 11. The age limit for these events will be based on the individual film certifications and tickets can be purchased now with prices starting from £14.50.Entry is from 7pm and guests are expected to bring their own chairs unless they purchase a 'V.I.P ticket' for the price of £30.50.
Visitors are welcome to drink sensibly and even have a sing and dance as they enjoy the film - so long as they go off to the side and grab the organiser as 'he loves a good dance'!
Organisers will make a decision - in regards to bad weather - 24 hours beforehand about whether or not to go ahead with the outdoor cinema event. They will make the decision to reschedule if there is a heavy rain or wind forecast - guests would be contacted via email.
If the event is rescheduled and guests cannot attend the new date, a refund will be issued.
There will be parking onsite as well as toilets and films will commence at sunset; visitors are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior in case the film starts earlier.
Guests are advised to bring warm and comfortable clothing and footwear as it can get rather chilly after the sun goes down. Food and drink will be available to purchase on site.
More information will be released on the Open Air Film and Chill Northampton Facebook page closer to the date of the events.
