KFC's £20,000 to find sites for three Northamptonshire drive-thrus is not chicken feed

KFC want to build three new drive-thrus in Northamptonshire — and have £20,000 up for grabs for anybody who finds spots to build them.

The fried chicken chain are targeting a second outlet in Kettering and others in Daventry and Towcester as part of a plan to add 500 restaurants to the 900 already scattered across the UK.

A KFC spokesman said: "Drive-thrus are our most popular asset and they are , which is now more flexible in both design and foot print than ever before.

"We can fit into sites more than one-third of a acre and will consider vacant sites and even existing building conversion.

"Ideally, potential sites should be freehold, leasehold, long leasehold with 20 spaces or shared car parking.

"And we pay £20,000 for all recognised introductions."

KFC currently has ten sites in Northamptonshire — five in Northampton and two in Wellingborough plus others at Kettering Leisure Park, Corby and Raunds.

The company, which is owned by Yum! Brands Inc, based in Louisville, Kentucky, wants to put a second outlet in Kettering somewhere on the north side of the town.

Britain's first Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant opened in Preston in 1965.
