A brand new foodie festival aiming to be an ‘immersive gastronomic’ experience is coming to Northamptonshire.

Crave Midlands, which is intended to be a yearly event, will first be held in the grounds of Lamport Hall between Brixworth and Maidwell in May next year.

The historic county manor with 10 acres of land will play host to the ‘destination’ food festival, which will be one the first of two events of its kind in the UK.

The event will celebrate some of the biggest culinary names, with French celebrity chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli named as the first headlining chef, as well as offering members of the public cooking demonstrations, workshops, pop-up restaurants and more, with the idea of providing an overall ‘immersive gastronomic’ experience.

Executive director at Marque II Media, the company behind the event, Paul Mathers said: “Having experienced and managed a number of events around the globe, we had long been wanting to create new kind of food festival that would bring like-minded foodies together to celebrate their love of cooking in a stunning outdoor setting.

“Crave is all about the passion and delight of food, from farm to fork, paddock to plate and everything in between; rearing and farming, making, tasting, eating, enjoying and sharing. It will be a sensory delight where food is king.”

The festival aims to showcase the best locally grown, nurtured and created food and drink produce from a range of artisans, producers, chefs, restaurants, wineries, brewers and distillers in a Covid-safe setting.

Mr Mathers added: “Now, in these times, more than ever people are seeing food as solace and a source of togetherness and creativity.

“We’re passionate about bringing invention and innovation to our events and at Crave this will be demonstrated through the implementation of new technologies, and curated and memorable experiences.

“We hope that people will come away from their Crave experience with new ideas and exuberance, learned from the experts and local talent alike.”

As well as workshops and masterclasses, festival-goers can also get involved in mixology sessions, tastings, the banquet marquee, classes for children and even an outdoor cinema.

The first Northamptonshire Crave event will take place on the weekend of May 15-16, 2021 and entry starts from £20 with masterclasses from £20 and VIP experiences from £95.

Event organisers are also keen to attract local businesses to showcase at the event.

Visit the event’s website for more information about renting a space. Tickets will also be available on the website from January.
