Wellingborough nursery secures another outstanding rating from Ofsted

Staff at this Wellingborough nursery are delighted to have secured another outstanding rating from Ofsted.

Inspectors visited Croyland Nursery School and Day Nursery in March and concluded that the nursery continues to provide the highest standards for its children.

It has been rated outstanding since 2007 and its staff are incredibly proud to have maintained this level for 13 years.

The latest inspection report says: "This is a welcoming place for children to learn and play.

"There are strong relationships between staff, children, parents and carers.

"Staff nurture and keep children safe."

Inspectors said the children are happy and their time in nursery is 'fun filled with thought provoking activities and experiences.'

It said the children's behaviour is excellent and the nursery provides a secure foundation for children to build their future learning.

Inspectors described the nursery environment as 'rich' with activities to promote children's learning and development.

They said parents typically describe their children as 'blossoming' and 'becoming increasingly resilient' as a result of the high standards

The report also said: "The nursery school is exceptionally well led.

"Leaders including governors work together as a strong team.

"They are aspirational for children.

"They lead with the belief that all children can thrive at the nursery.

"Staff share leaders' desire for children to become independent, inquisitive learners.

"Children are very well prepared for primary school.

"Leaders have a continual drive for further improvement."

The nursery has 115 pupils on its roll aged between two and four-years-old.

Assistant head Jo Newman, who led the inspection as the acting executive headteacher with the support of the senior leadership team while the headteacher was on maternity leave, said the nursery has remained open throughout lockdown supporting key worker and vulnerable children's families.
