Dozens of rescued hens are ready for re-homing.

Animals In Need in Little Irchester recently rescued about 200 hens from a small free range farm.

They went into isolation following their rescue but after some TLC from the team, they are ready and raring to go to their new homes.

Annie Marriott from the charity, which has been rescuing and re-homing animals across Northamptonshire for 30 years, said: "The cheeky girls we recently rescued are now in a good condition and ready for re-homing.

"They will need to live in small groups with plenty of space to scratch around in, a dust bath, enrichment areas and a large secure shed (or similar) for sleeping in.

"Please note a small coop is not enough, these girls are used to free ranging and enjoy foraging.

"To apply please email [email protected]."
