An animal rescue and re-homing charity is looking for new homes for 380 hens rescued from an organic free range farm.

Animals In Need in Little Irchester is appealing for help in finding homes for the large number of birds they have taken in.

Annie Marriott from the charity told the Northants Telegraph: "They have retired from their commercial life and need wonderful large new homes with gardens to explore.

Could you give a hen a home?

"These ladies, approximately two-years-old, are used to having acres of paddocks to roam in so we will not rehome to tiny hutch-like cages."

If you think you may be a suitable retirement home for some of the rescued hens, email pictures of your hen accommodation to [email protected]
