Dazzling duo are diamonds in their Slimming World group

Two Kettering ladies have won Slimming World’s ‘Diamond Member of the Year 2025’ in their local Slimming World group after maintaining their incredible weight losses for a number of years.

Marie gained weight following early retirement - lunches and parties took their toll - with her weight creeping up to 21 stone.

Marie joined Slimming World and received support to adopt healthy habits which enabled her to lose weight and keep it off.

She said: “I love the freedom of Slimming World. Food Optimising offers flexibility and choice, you never feel like you are restricted or have to deny yourself the foods you love!”

She added: “after losing over 12 stone, it has opened up a world of opportunities - I can now do yoga and Pilates again, I also enjoy swimming and going to the gym. Even simple things, like being able to cross my legs have made the world of difference!”

Sandra, after losing 2 stone and has maintained her target weight for many years agrees and says “Food Optimising is my way of life, it is not a diet. I enjoy healthy foods, without feeling like I am missing out on treats.”

Sandra also shares that having lost 2 stone, her health has also improved.“When I was overweight, it impacted my blood pressure, since losing weight, I no longer need medication, which is life changing!”

Marie added “Everyone is really lovely in group. Members always share inspirational stories and there is a lot of fun. Members are always supporting each other and this is so important to long-term weight loss success. Joining a Slimming World group is the best decision I made!”

After sharing their inspirational stories in their Slimming World group, Marie and Sandra were awarded ‘Diamond Target Member of the Year 2025’ at their group in Kettering.

Diamond Member of the Year is awarded to a slimmer who has lost weight and maintained it for at least a year or longer, and is voted for by the members of the group.

Their Consultant, Angela Markie says “Members getting to target and keeping their weight off is so inspiring to all our members and really shows what can be achieved with a few healthy lifestyle changes. I am so proud of Marie and Sandra, they are such an important part of group and not only do they help and support other members on their weightloss journey, but they have also built a beautiful friendship”
