
More than 2.5 million drivers in the UK currently have at least one penalty point on their driving licence, according to new research.
Collectively, motorists across the country have racked up 10.6 million points between them, with offenders including three over the age of 100, ChooseMyCar has revealed.
But are some areas more reckless on the roads than others?

Who are the most common offenders?
Research revealed that the most common number of points to have on your licence is three, with more than 1,975,000 drivers in the UK currently holding this amount on their licence.
While three is the most common, a staggering 2.7 million motorists have managed to notch up at least one point on their licence.
Three people aged 101 have totted up three points each on their licence, while men were found to be twice as likely as women to break the law while driving.

Research revealed some parts of the UK to be better than others in terms of careful drivers, with these locations being the areas where drivers are most likely to have points on their licence.
1. Halifax - 15.73% of drivers with points
2. Bradford - 14.66% of drivers with points
3. Huddersfield - 14.06% of drivers with points
4. East London - 12.78% of drivers with points
5. Wakefield - 12.13% of drivers with points
6. North London - 11.90% of drivers with points
7. Luton - 11.85% of drivers with points
8. Western Central London - 11.80% of drivers with points
9. Liverpool - 11.67% of drivers with points
10. Blackburn - 11.31% of drivers with points
