Wicksteed Park's 100 years in pictures: part three

Take a look at the park's history

This year marks 100 years since the opening of Kettering's Wicksteed Park.

It was founded by Charles Wicksteed, who bought the land in 1913 and initially wanted to build a model village. But after the First World War and housing reforms he decided to create a park for local people to spend their leisure time.

One hundred years later and, although the park has now fully re-opened from its Covid closure, it's still loved by many.

This is the third and final part in a series of picture specials documenting its history, with pictures from the 1960s up until the current era.
