Successful applicants for all four roles will be paid up to £165,000 a year.

Alan Burns, joint chairman for both hospitals, said: “Moving to a group model, but retaining the existing boards, will enable both trusts to integrate their clinical services whilst developing innovative approaches to streamlining pathways, with a clear focus on doing the right thing for patients every time.

“We are now seeking kind, compassionate and inclusive leaders for our two hospital sites who will make great things happen in each trust, and bring people together and with them on our ambitious group journey.

“This will require individuals with substantial experience in an acute environment, a track record at board level of achieving sustained service change and improvement, and a knowledge of building effective and productive working relationships with a wide range of people and partners and a collaborative management style.”
