When someone calls, a trained member of staff will find the right support for them, whether this is from the NHS; the voluntary and community sector; or advice over the telephone.

Anyone in Northamptonshire is welcome to call, whether they are currently receiving mental health treatment or not. Existing service users can use the number as an alternative way to contact the service already supporting them as well as a way of speaking to someone out of hours.

Healthcare professionals such as GPs can also call in order to refer their patients to services for support.

Anne Rackham, Director of Mental Health at NHFT said, “NHFT has an established working partnership with Mind – we work together to provide out-of-hours Crisis Cafes available across the county throughout the week. The mental health number was a natural progression of our collaboration and commitment to making mental health services simpler to access.
