Last night Public Health England confirmed that 302 people had tested positive for coronavirus in Northamptonshire since the outbreak began in February.

Northampton General Hospital also announced three further deaths today, bringing the number of people in the county who have died to 38.

Nationally, NHS England confirmed a further 555 deaths today. Patients were aged between 33 years and 103 years old. 29 of the 555 patients (aged between 35 and 95 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

The news came as temperatures in the county soared and Health Secretary Matt Hancock warned that if people did not obey strict social distancing and exercise laws, he may have to tighten rules to mean that no exercise will be allowed.
