Seven more Covid-19 deaths reported at Kettering General Hospital

A further seven Covid-19-connected deaths have been reported today (Friday, April 24) at Kettering General Hospital.

The grim death tally for the hospital now stands at 85, and the total for the county including Northampton General Hospital is 213.

The real total is likely to be much higher as it does not include care home or community deaths.

Of today's announcement at KGH, one patient died April 16, April 19, April 20 and 22. Three patients died on Tuesday, April 21.

Across the UK, a total of 761 coronavirus deaths have so far been confirmed today.

It was also announced today that Douglas Moore, 98, from Wellingborough has left KGH after beating off coronavirus.

KGH had its first two coronavirus deaths on March 16. The deadliest day in the pandemic for the hospital was Friday, April 3, when seven people died in a single day.

In the past week there have been 18 confirmed deaths - but this figure is likely to change as there is a significant reporting lag.
