No inquests yet opened over any Covid-19 deaths in Northamptonshire

There have been no inquests opened for any deaths in Northamptonshire related to Covid-19.

The county's coroner's office has confirmed they have not yet opened any public inquests to confirm a cause of death for any cases in Northamptonshire related coronavirus.

Inquests are public hearings held to establish facts and determine a cause of death in unusual circumstances.

Currently, all public inquests have been postponed in line with social distancing guidelines.

However, senior coroner for Northamptonshire Anne Pember confirmed this did not mean there will not be any inquests opened in relation to the virus in the future.
