Numbers are collated daily at 5pm and made public the following afternoon but do not include all the most recent fatalities.
An NHS spokesman said: “Our figures on patients who died in hospital and tested positive for Covid-19 are updated as more tests are processed.
"Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure. This means that the totals reported at 5pm on each day may not include all deaths from that day or recent prior days.”

Another 20 have died at Kettering General Hospital. The most recent made public was on April 4.
NHS figures do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes, so experts say the true figure of Covid-19 victims is considerably higher.
The number of known coronavirus cases in Northamptonshire rose by 45 to 473 as at 9am yesterday (Tuesday April 7).
