KGH staff treated to some packages of smiles by Stanion mum

Staff on the Covid frontline at Kettering General Hospital (KGH) have been treated to a home pamper pack as a thank you for their tireless efforts by representatives of a cosmetics company.

Northamptonshire members of The Body Shop at Home area group, known as Team Serendipity, joined together to treat staff working on respiratory wards at the hospital.

The team led by Team Serendipity area manager Mairead McNally collectively raised more than £2,200 for NHS care goody bags, which have all been taken personally to different wards of the hospital.

Many of the Body Shop at Home team have other jobs including as medical staff working at the hospital as well as other roles across the area.

Claire Sanderson, who also works at at Willowbrook Construction, raised £1,000 donating her commission to the cause and put together 76 care packages for staff on the respiratory wards - Harrowden A and the temporary Skylark adult facility.

She said: ‘It’s something I thought the NHS staff deserved one thousand per cent. I feel really strongly about the situation at the moment.

"I’m so happy we were able to put some smiles on the people’s faces that are facing really tough times and doing such a brilliant job at the moment."

Inside each package was a hand cream, hand sanitiser, lip balm and goodies such as fruit tea bags, biscuit and sweets, not forgetting a bath bomb for the staff to enjoy at home after a hard day's work.

Claire said: "It was very overwhelming putting them together, I did feel quite emotional.

"I’m very proud of the way people have pulled together and made this possible, with special thanks to the workers at Willowbrook Construction who kindly added to the donations."
