KGH confirms eight more Covid-19 deaths

Six people died from coronavirus over the weekend

Figures from NHS England show that eight more people have died from Covid-19 at KGH.

The figures show six people sadly lost their lives over the weekend, with three deaths recorded on both Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17.

One person died on Friday and another on Monday.

One other death on Sunday at KGH was confirmed yesterday, so today's figure of three takes the Sunday toll to four.

Over the weekend, there were zero confirmed deaths at KGH. There is sometimes a lag in the recording of deaths over the weekend due to waiting for confirmations.

It takes the hospital's coronavirus death toll to 153.

Two deaths were confirmed at NGH today and occurred on Sunday and Monday.

Across the county's two main hospitals there have now been 367 deaths from coronavirus.
