Voluntary and community sector organisations across East Northants could be eligible for funding to help them with their work.

East Northants Council (ENC) helped nearly 30 community projects and groups between October and December 2020 with funding advice for a variety of projects, including building repairs, improvements to community facilities and making buildings Covid-19 compliant.

ENC is now encouraging any community organisation who is working on a project or might need a financial boost to come forward and contact the council, so they can work together and maximise financial opportunities on offer to individual organisations at this difficult time.

There are many grant schemes and funding, both local and national schemes, on offer to projects in East Northants and ENC can offer tailored advice to community projects to help them find the best schemes for their projects and talk though the application process.

Cllr Steven North, ENC leader, said: “We have always provided advice and support for those groups that are looking for a cash boost to help get their projects off the ground, but now more than ever, community projects are seeking financial boosts to help them mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

“There are plenty of schemes on offer that people may not be aware of, with new schemes appearing all the time, so we would encourage anyone who is considering a project or has had an existing project impacted by Covid-19 to come forward and speak to us now, before East Northamptonshire Council ceases to exist on 31 March.”

In addition to providing a reactive funding advice service, ENC has also recently set up a regular funding update for voluntary and community sector organisations.

"This was started in response to community needs and the changing face of funding at the start of the pandemic but has continued since and now regular funding updates are emailed to over 800 organisations, as well as to town and parish councils in East Northants.

Any community organisation or group in East Northants who wishes to seek funding advice or receive the regular funding updates can contact ENC’s external funding manager on [email protected].
