Four more Covid-19 patients die at Kettering General Hospital

Four more people have sadly died at Kettering General Hospital with Covid-19.

The total number of people who have died with the virus at the hospital since the outbreak now stands at 140.

Thirty of those patients have died since the beginning of May. Two of the latest four died on Monday (May 11) and two died on Tuesday (May 12). The number of deaths at the Rothwell Road hospital remains steady, with at least one death recorded continuously every day since April 10.

The latest numbers were announced by NHS England this afternoon, which stated a further 186 people who tested positive for the Covid-19 have died in hospitals in across the country, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 24,345.

Patients were aged between 15 and 99 years old. Ten of the 186 patients (aged between 30 and 94 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

These figures do not include the number of people who died in care homes, a figure recorded separately and announced every evening.

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Corby now stands at 98 - up from 91 four days ago. In Kettering the figure is 181, up from 171 four days ago. Wellingborough's cases have risen to 118 from 109 four days ago and in East Northants, there have been a total of 154 cases, up from 147 on Monday.
