Five more diagnosed with coronavirus across the north of our county as KGH records one further death

Another death from coronavirus has been confirmed at Kettering General Hospital today (Friday, June 5).

The person sadly died on Monday, June 1 after testing positive for the virus. It means a total of five people died on June 1 at the hospital in Rothwell Road, and brings the total number of people who have died there since the start of the crisis to 191.

The news comes as five more people were diagnosed with coronavirus in the past 24 hours. One person was diagnosed in each of Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough, while two positive cases emerged in East Northants according to Public Health England figures.

KGH's Capt Tom Moore ward opened earlier this week to act as a step-down ward for the next six months.
