A spokesman for East Northants Council said: "One fixed penalty notice (FPN) was served at the weekend by the police on one member of the public for not wearing a face covering.

"This was part of a joint series of visits with police to check on face covering compliance (and anything else Covid-related) in the county.

"We will be doing more joint visits with the police in the coming days and weeks to check on face covering compliance and to address any concerns with compliance by businesses."
