Corby school confirms coronavirus case as 41 pupils self-isolate

A student at a Corby school has tested positive for coronavirus and a number of students are self-isolating.

Corby Technical School (CTS) confirmed a pupil in Year 10 has tested positive and 41 students are self-isolating until Friday, October 16.

In a statement, CTS' Principal Angela Reynolds said: "One student in Year 10 has received a positive test for Covid-19.

"After assessing the specific circumstances of this case, Public Health England has asked 41 students to self-isolate during our school holiday until Friday, October 16. Due to our stringent ‘bubbles’ all other students are unaffected and should continue to follow national guidelines.

CTS has different term dates and is on a two-week holiday this week and next week.

Principal Reynolds said: "All students will be able to return to the school, providing they have no symptoms, on Monday, October 26."

CTS is the latest school in north Northants to confirm a positive coronavirus case as rates continue to rise locally and across the country.
