Coronavirus testing site in Wellingborough this weekend

A mobile coronavirus testing unit (MTU) will be in Wellingborough from tomorrow (Saturday) until Tuesday, June 23.

Mobile sites are only in a location for a few days as part of the Covid-19 National Testing Programme.

The exact location has not yet been revealed by health officials but members of the public will be told where to go once they have booked an appointment.

Those wanting to be tested can book an appointment online here from 5pm today (Friday).

Anyone with coronavirus symptoms can book a test but essential workers will be given priority. More information is available here.

Coronavirus symptoms are a new, continuous cough, high temperature, and loss or change in sense of smell.

The NHS advises that tests are only effective if you are symptomatic. More information can be found here.

In recent weeks, mobile testing sites have popped up in Kettering's London Road car park, Corby's Rockingham Triangle, and Tesco in Wellingborough and Corby.

The military have been helping run mobile testing units.
