Corby Urgent Care Centre will be holding a women's health event tomorrow (Saturday, September 5) with expert advice.

The day will cover a range women's health topics and attendees will be able to have blood pressure checks and health advice specific to their results. There will also be a ruffle.

Des Daley, clinical service manager at Corby Urgent Care Centre, said: "We are proud to be launching the Women's Health and Wellbeing Event at the centre.

"We have a team of passionate clinicians and advisors who are experts in all aspects in women's health and wellbeing."

The day will be attended by a patient advisor, nurse, and two advanced clinical practicioners specialising in gynaecological presentations and women's health.

Topics covered will include sexual health and contraception, gynae-related illnesses, pregnancy and miscarriage support, menopause, breast care, cervical cancer, breast cancer and emotional support, health and fitness, wellbeing, mental health and domestic violence safeguarding.

Mr Daley said: "This event is about focusing on the needs of our local community. We are hoping this is the first of many events that we will be holding in Corby."

The event will be carefully managed to adhere to social distancing guidelines with mandatory face coverings for attendees.

The day will run from 9am to 6pm and open to all women. Corby Urgent Care Centre, part of OneMedicalGroup, is in Cottingham Road, Corby.
