Wellingborough school's Year Ten bubble told to stay at home on Monday after Covid case

Year Ten pupils at a Wellingborough school have been asked to stay at home on Monday (November 9) following a confirmed case of Covid-19.

Wrenn School principal Steve Elliott emailed a letter to parents today (Sunday) informing them that a second member of the school community has tested positive for coronavirus.

The school closed its Year Nine bubble — also based in the Doddington Road site — on Tuesday last week under similar circumstances.

The letter told parents: "We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

As a precaution, we have decided to close our Year Ten bubble for tomorrow. This will enable us to generate a list of students who have been in close contact with the person who has tested positive and to allow for deep cleaning.

"All teaching and learning will continue live on Teams, as per students’ normal timetables, to maintain our high expectations.

Until the close contact list has been generated, please ensure your Year Ten child isolates at home to keep the local community safe. Further guidance will be issued by the end of the day tomorrow."

Wrenn School is part of the Creative Education Trust and has two sites in London Road and Doddington Road, Wellingborough.
