Village school joins Wellingborough education trust

Another school in Northamptonshire has become an academy.

Ecton Primary School, near Wellingborough, has joined the Hatton Academies Trust which runs the Victoria and Oakway primary schools in the town.

A spokesman for the trust said: “We are delighted to announce that Ecton Village Primary Academy (formerly Ecton Village Primary) has joined our family of schools.”

Chief executive of Hatton Academies Trust Victoria Bishop said: “we are very proud that the consistent high performance and outstanding leadership capacity of Hatton Academies Trust has enabled us to build our family of schools within the community.

“Our focus is to ensure that each child’s educational needs are at the heart of all decisions.

“We are very excited to be working with Ecton Village Primary Academy and will be supporting them fully to become a high performance primary school.

“It is a very exciting time for the whole community.”

Ecton Village Primary Academy principal Kate Cleaver said: “We are passionate about ensuring our children have the very best education and want the whole community to be part of our development plans for Ecton Village Primary Academy.”

There are about 70 pupils on the roll at the school, which received a good rating in its most recent Ofsted report.
