Local Pupils Shine at Rotary Schools’ Quiz 2026

The Rotary Club of Rushden hosted an exciting and well‑attended Schools’ Quiz on 10 March 2026, bringing together seven local junior and primary schools at Rushden Academy to compete for the prestigious Harry Cockburn Memorial Cup.
The atmosphere was electric as parents, grandparents, teachers, and supporters packed the hall, creating one of the most energetic and lively quiz evenings the Club has seen. With enthusiastic cheering and a tightly contested scoreboard, the event kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
By the halfway point, several teams had emerged as strong contenders, but with everything still to play for—and plenty of chocolate prizes keeping spirits high—the competition remained fierce until the end.
Rushden Primary Academy emerged victorious with an impressive score of 40 out of 45, closely followed by Henry Chichele Primary School with 39.5, and South End Junior School with 39. This year’s event marked one of the highest‑scoring quiz evenings to date, highlighting the exceptional knowledge and teamwork of the pupils involved.

The winning team from Rushden Primary Academy were “absolutely thrilled” with their achievement. Lyndsey Edwards, Head of the Academy, expressed her pride in the pupils’ performance and enthusiasm. The school will receive the Harry Cockburn Memorial Cup and official winning certificates during an upcoming assembly.
The Rotary Club of Rushden extends sincere thanks to all participating schools, the supportive families, and particularly the Rotarians who helped organise and run the event, contributing to another memorable and successful evening.
