Kettering primary school leaders win national 'Team of the Year' award

A Kettering school’s senior leadership team has been recognised for its professionalism in a national awards ceremony.

The David Ross Education Trust, which operates schools across the country, hosted its annual Inspiration Awards for Teaching Excellence which honour teachers and schools across its academies for their outstanding achievements.

This year, the senior leadership team at Greenfields Primary School and Nursery beat off stiff competition to be presented with the Team of the Year - Primary Award.

The award was designed to recognise the real transformational impact a team is having on the school community.

The school was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in January 2020.

The awards were sponsored by Northants online bookstore Thinking Books.

Headteacher, Sandra Appleby, said: "I am delighted for the school and its community – it is a tremendous award to receive.

"The senior leadership team are a talented and dedicated core of individuals who understand that the success of any school relies on the wider team around them and they are committed to making sure that everyone achieves their best.

"The team’s understanding of how embracing the arts has ensured that children leave Greenfields with creativity, and a broad and diverse knowledge of the world around them. The SLT are recognised in the trust as exceptional leaders who now support colleagues across the country."
