Kettering Buccleuch Academy hosts successful Community Resilience and Wellbeing Evening

On 15th January, 2026, Kettering Buccleuch Academy (KBA) was pleased to host its first-ever Community Resilience and Wellbeing Evening.
The event, which brought together families, local agencies and professionals, sought to support and promote social, emotional and mental health wellbeing across the community.
The event welcomed a number of external organisations and specialist services, offering families practical advice, resources and guidance on a range of issues of relevance to young people including managing exam stress, building resilience and supporting mental health.
A series of workshops led by experienced professionals were held over the course of the evening and there were also opportunities for parents to have face‑to‑face conversations with professionals.
The evening was very well attended with parents commenting on how useful and informative the sessions were. They also valued the opportunity to speak directly with school staff and external professionals.
One parent commented: “This was a very insightful and educational event which I have gained a lot from. It has been a great opportunity to meet staff and discuss concerns.
"The amount of information has been great and, as a family, we will definitely make use of the services available.”
Chloe Buckenham, Principal at Kettering Buccleuch Academy, said: “At KBA, our commitment to our students does not stop at the school gates.
"We know that for our students to thrive – both in and outside the classroom – we need to work in partnership with families and help them to support their children at home.
"Through initiatives such as our Resilience and Wellbeing Evening, we seek to equip families with the tools and resources they need to support their children.
"We were pleased to welcome so many families and it was heartening to hear how useful they found the evening.”
