They found it to be calm and happy with warm and welcoming staff, leaders who have high expectations and pupils who feel safe.

Headteacher Marek Krzanicki said: “I am incredibly proud of the school and of the team here at Barton Seagrave Primary School that work tirelessly to give our children the best possible start to the rest of their lives.

“We are passionate about creating an environment that is positive and stimulating for our children and staff, and Ofsted have recognised the lengths that we go to here at Barton.

“It is also fantastic to see the impact that our curriculum has on our children being acknowledged by Ofsted and we are thrilled to be able to share this news with our school community.

“The staff and children have worked incredibly hard for this and it is a well-deserved outcome for our school.”

In the report one parent said: "My child settled well and grew in confidence. He loves reading and that is because of the school. I’m so happy to leave him here.”

Lead Ofsted inspector Mark Anderson found that the school has a calm atmosphere and that pupils are courteous to one another.

He said that morale is high among staff, that safeguarding arrangements are effective, that staff have good subject knowledge and that the curriculum is well-planned. However he added that, in some subjects, these plans are not being implemented consistently.

Mr Anderson said: "Pupils enjoy coming to school. They relish the chance to join in the many clubs the school has to offer.

"Pupils get the chance to go to the theatre, represent the school in events and visit interesting places.”

The report is one of a number published by Ofsted this month after visits to Northamptonshire schools.

Beanfield Primary School in Corby was found to be good, while inspectors said Bishop Stopford School in Kettering requires improvement.

Wellingborough’s Sir Christopher Hatton Academy, Corby’s Studfall Junior Academy and Thrapston Primary School were also graded as good.
