Rushden students have again excelled and made outstanding progress across a wide range of subjects in both A-level and applied courses.

The results this year have been based on teacher assessments, which were then standardised by the Exam boards, as unfortunately Covid-19 prevented pupils from sitting their exams.

However, results this year have improved again and the school has seen a big increase in students attaining A* and A grades. These grades have enabled 100 per cent of students to accept university offers from their first choices, including many heading to a Russell Group destination.

Students who excelled included Nina Pavic, achieving A* and three A grades, Leo Wondzinski, gaining two A* and two A grades, Moses Paul-King with four A grades, and Dan Black achieving three A and two C grades.

There were also some fantastic level three vocational results including Ryan Whitenburgh achieving D*D*D, Josh Munnelly achieving DDD and Matthew Baker achieving D*DD.

Rushden Academy principal Jane Burton said: “These students worked incredibly hard throughout their time at Rushden Academy. They have amazing attributes that will take them far in life, they were resilient in times of adversity, and they were kind and thoughtful students who always went that extra mile to help others.

"We are so pleased that our students gained the excellent grades they deserved and that many will be attending top universities and studying a range of subjects. Some of our students have decided to take a gap year and seek employment and we wish them all the very best too.

"Our students have left an outstanding legacy, they have certainly done themselves, their families and Team Rushden very proud”

Rushden Academy is part of East Northamptonshire College, where the three schools of Rushden, Ferrers and Huxlow work in partnership and post-16 students are taught by teachers across the three sites.
