Wedding at Westhill Park care home

This week brought a truly special moment to Westhill Park Care Home. Our lovely resident Myra was unable to travel abroad for her grandson’s wedding due to ill health — but her family and our team made sure she didn’t miss out on the celebration.

In a beautiful surprise, the wedding party arrived at the home dressed in their outfits, and Myra looked wonderful in her own special ensemble. The lounge was decorated with flowers and ribbons, and residents and staff gathered to share in the joy.

Myra’s grandson entered the room in his wedding suit, knelt beside her, and told her, “I couldn’t get married without you.” The couple then exchanged their vows just a few steps away from her chair, making sure she heard and felt every moment.

There were happy tears, heartfelt applause, and plenty of photos afterwards — with Myra proudly at the centre. She welcomed her new granddaughter‑in‑law with a kiss and gave the couple her blessing.

It wasn’t a grand venue, but it was a perfect reminder that love can always find a way. For Myra and her family, Westhill Park became more than a home that day — it became the heart of a cherished family memory.
