Total Balance Beauty Salon unites community to support families in need this Christmas

A Kettering beauty salon brought the local community together this Christmas in a powerful act of kindness, collecting an incredible 40–50 full carrier bags of donations to support families in need.
Total Balance, located on Market Street, is owned by Ellie, 22, and Natalie, 25, who have proudly run the business together for the past three years. As November approached, the pair felt strongly that they wanted to do something meaningful to help others, particularly during a time of year that can be incredibly difficult for many.
With the rising cost of living continuing to affect households, Ellie and Natalie were aware that for some families, winter and Christmas bring added stress, worry, and uncertainty. Wanting to support those who may be struggling, they organised a food bank collection within the salon and also made a donation themselves, believing it was important to lead by example.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, clients were invited to bring in food and non-food essentials every time they attended an appointment. The response was overwhelming. Clients arrived with carrier bags filled with groceries, toiletries, and household essentials, often expressing how important it felt to be able to help others in the community.

By the end of the collection, Total Balance had gathered between 40 and 50 full carrier bags of donations. Ellie and Natalie hope the generosity shown will help local individuals and families not only get through Christmas, but also carry them into the new year with a little less worry.
The owners said they were deeply moved by the kindness and compassion shown by their clients and are incredibly proud of what can be achieved when a community comes together. They hope the initiative highlights the importance of looking out for one another, especially during challenging times.
