SERVE: Supporting local residents during Northamptonshire’s critical incident

LEADING county charity SERVE – recently announced as the East Midlands Regional Winner of the Best Home Care Team accolade at the 2024 Great British Care Awards – has issued an urgent statement to support residents during the recent cold snap.

The charity, with its headquarters in Rushden, has proven its commitment to delivering outstanding home care services and in light of the critical incident declared by the Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board, stands ready to extend its expertise and compassion to support local residents during this challenging time.

CEO Tony Gibbs said: “The current pressures on the healthcare system underscore the importance of having reliable, high-quality care providers like SERVE at the heart of the community.

“We are not only responding to the immediate crisis but are also committed to working collaboratively with the Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board and other partners to ensure residents receive the care and support they need in the months ahead.

“As an award-winning organisation, SERVE takes great pride in setting the standard for excellence in home care.

“During this critical time, we are here to support you, your loved ones, and our community. If you or someone you know requires care at home, please contact us directly on 01933 315555. Together, we can face these challenges and ensure every individual in need receives compassionate, professional support.”

Mr Gibbs said the recognition SERVE received last year reflects the dedication, skill, and professionalism of its home care team. With more than 40 highly trained carers, supported by experienced team leaders, schedulers, and administrators, the organisation is equipped to adapt quickly and effectively to evolving needs.

He outlined how SERVE is supporting the community through:

· Hospital Discharge: SERVE is gearing up to work even more closely with local hospitals and other healthcare providers to ensure patients are discharged safely and receive high-quality care at home. Our team has extensive experience in providing tailored support to individuals with complex needs.

· Reducing Pressures on our hospitals: By offering exceptional community-based care support services, SERVE helps prevent avoidable hospital admissions, ensuring those who need acute care can access it.

· Flexible and Responsive Care: We are ready to scale up our services to meet increased demand, providing everything from personal care and medication support to wellbeing checks and companionship.

· Community Connection: SERVE’s deep ties to Northamptonshire mean we understand the unique challenges faced by local residents. Our person-centred approach ensures that every individual is treated with dignity and respect.
