Rushden opticians donates care packages to local charity

In a continued effort to support people affected by homelessness in the community, a local opticians has donated a number of essential care packages to homelessness charity, Encompass.
The team at Specsavers on the High Street, which is locally owned and run, prepared 20 care packages before delivering them to Encompass, a charity which supports people affected by homelessness. The packages included warm hats, gloves, and socks, a reusable coffee cup and other essential items.
Emma Darby, store director at Specsavers Rushden, comments: ‘We were pleased to be able to put these care packages together and support Encompass with their vital work in the local area. Small items can make a big difference, particularly during colder months, and we were keen to do our bit to help people in the area.
‘We held a homelessness clinic earlier in the year, offering free eyecare, and as a local business, it’s important to us that we continue to support initiatives that improve wellbeing and access to care for those facing difficult circumstances.
Specsavers continues to work with local and national partners to help reduce barriers to healthcare and support people experiencing homelessness through a range of community initiatives.
