Oakley Vale Community Centre celebrates a week of festive success with two standout Christmas events

Oakley Vale Community Centre has marked the beginning of the festive season with two highly successful Christmas events, bringing together residents, local organisations, and community leaders in a celebration of unity and holiday spirit.
On 29 November, the Centre welcomed hundreds of visitors to its Annual Christmas Fayre, a much-loved tradition in the Oakley Vale calendar. With more than 35 stallholders offering handmade crafts, unique Christmas gifts, and seasonal treats, the event enjoyed strong attendance and a vibrant, festive atmosphere.
The Mayor of Corby, Cllr Callum Reilly, visited the Fayre and showed genuine interest in the stallholders and community initiatives showcased throughout the day. During the event, Simon Rielly, Head of Corby Town Council, presented a £400 cheque to Oakley Vale Community Centre in recognition of its growing achievements and ongoing contribution to local community life.
On 5 December, the celebrations continued with the Centre’s Annual Christmas Carols, a cherished evening of music and togetherness. The Corby Chordless Choir and the Corby Silver Band led the carol singing, with Mayor Callum Reilly once again taking part and helping to lead the joyful performances.

Peter Moden, Chair of Oakley Vale Community Centre, expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to both events. He acknowledged the dedication of the Centre’s committee, volunteers, supportive local companies, and the invaluable backing of Corby Town Council. He also praised local councillors for always “rolling up their sleeves” and contributing hands-on support.
“These events have become something very special and deeply inclusive,” said Mr. Moden. “They represent the best of what our community can achieve when we come together.”
Oakley Vale Community Centre looks forward to continuing its tradition of delivering accessible, community-driven events throughout the year.
