Men's mental health charity receives £1,500 donation from Northamptonshire homebuilder
Andy’s Man Club, a men’s suicide prevention charity, has received a £1,500 donation from David Wilson Homes to support its vital work encouraging men to speak as openly as they can about their struggles in life.
The charity was founded in 2016 after a young man named Andy Roberts took his own life unexpectedly at the age of 23. His mum and brother-in-law then came together to try to combat male suicide, and now nearly 10 years later, Andy’s Man Club operates over 270 free weekly talking groups nationwide.
The donation came as part of The Barratt Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.
Lucas Whitehead, Head of Marketing and Partnerships at Andy’s Man Club, said: “We are a donation-led charity meaning that donations like this one from David Wilson Homes are our lifeblood, enabling us to continue our work.

“Suicide is the biggest killer in men under 54, yet there is still a cultural stigma surrounding male mental health and men talking about it, and through this donation we hope to reach even more people who need our services.
“David Wilson Homes’ Community Fund scheme is a fantastic initiative that helps so many charities including grassroots organisations like ours. Everyone at Andy’s Man Club would like to offer David Wilson Homes our most sincere thank you. This donation means the world to us and we will be using it to further our mission.”
Andy’s Man Club received £1,500 which will help fund new support groups and ensuring existing groups are well-stocked with essentials. The charity has groups all over the country, including a group in Northampton.
Ben Kalus, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “As a leading housebuilder we strive to support the communities in and around the areas in which we build, and we are delighted to be able to offer Andy’s Man Club a donation to support the fantastic work it does.”
