A Northamptonshire hospital has secured a £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes Midlands, helping to support families who have suffered the loss of a baby.

The Northampton General Hospital is raising funds to build the ‘Daisy Suite’; a dedicated unit that will support parents through this difficult period.

Sarah Markie, applied for the funding on behalf of the hospital having suffered two bereavements in 2024 and 2025. She is working tirelessly to raise funds through a series of events.

Sarah commented: “I know first-hand how difficult this experience is and the staff at the hospital were amazing. However, to have a dedicated space for people who have lost their babies where they can deliver them and spend precious time with them in a safe and caring environment away from the labour ward and post-natal women.”

Claire Dearsley, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes Midlands said:“We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local charities, and we couldn’t think of a better cause than the Daisy Suite. We were saddened to read of Sarah’s experience and hope this donation will go some way to helping the hospital reach their target and inch closer to the opening of this dedicated unit.”
