Corby Slimming World members pull together to support local food bank

Members of the Corby Church of Scotland Slimming World held a reverse advent calendar during the first three weeks of December and donated much-needed food and toiletry items to the Corby Food Bank.
After helping to support the Corby Food Bank last year Sharon’s Slimming World members were only too willing to help out again for such a worth while cause.
Sharon said: “Last year I was blown away with the generosity of our Slimming World group and this year our members have matched it. We collected for the first three weeks of December and have filled nine crates of much-needed food items and toiletries too.
"Basic things like UHT milk, tea, coffee and tinned items were donated as well as many much needed toiletry items.

“We also had many other items donated like selection boxes for any children."
The Corby Food Bank came and collected the items and were really grateful for all the donations given.
Martin from Corby Food Bank explained: "More and more families are needing us and these items will go a long way to help those families in need.“
The up-to-date list of items is on the Corby Food Bank website. Their most needed items are cereal, tea, coffee, pasta sauce, tinned fruit and veg, tinned meat and fish, tinned custard and rice pudding, biscuits, UHT milk and juice.
Sharon explained: “We have such a community feel within our groups where all you get is support from each other so this has just been extended to the community at the Food Bank who at any time of the year need supporting but even more so in the current climate.
“Our groups are such great communities and are filled with kindness so it doesn’t surprise me that they want to help support others.“
