Burton Latimer and Kettering Slimming World members spread festive cheer with generous food bank donations

Members of Slimming World groups in Kettering and Burton Latimer have shown the true spirit of Christmas by donating hundreds of advent calendars, tins and non-perishable items to help local families in need.
The donations were collected by Slimming World with Teresa, whose members rallied together throughout October and mid November to support Kettering Food Bank during one of its busiest times of the year.
Group consultant Teresa Seaton, who runs the sessions, said she was overwhelmed by her members’ generosity.
“We wanted to do something that reached beyond our usual slimming goals,” she said. “Our members are incredibly supportive of one another, and that kindness naturally extends to our wider community. It’s been heart-warming to see everyone contribute — from a single tin of soup to bags full of groceries and festive treats.”

Among the donations were hundreds of advent calendars, ensuring that local children will have something special to look forward to this December.
A spokesperson from Kettering Food Bank praised the initiative, saying:
“These donations will make such a difference to local families. The festive period is always a challenging time, and it’s wonderful to see community groups like Slimming World coming together to help.”
Teresa added that acts of kindness like this show what Slimming World is all about.
“It’s not just about weight loss — it’s about support, friendship and doing something positive together,” she said.
