A slice of happiness: Elm Bank care home residents celebrate National Pizza Day

Residents and staff at Elm Bank care home in Kettering celebrated National Pizza Day in true style with creating their very own pizza’s.
The chef’s prepared the dough and the residents on the Blossom Trail Community rolled up their sleeves and began the tactile task of stretching and shaping their pizza bases. With an array of toppings to choose from their perfect pizza’s were soon created. For some of the residents it was the first time they had created a pizza, and even shaping the dough created a lot of laughter.
Activities Co-ordinator, Tina said: “It was such a fun afternoon for our residents and it was also lovely to have family in to help. The residents were really pleased with their creations and after they had been baked, they enjoyed them for their tea.”
General Manager, Larisa Bledea, said: “It was a fantastic afternoon for all, all of the creations were delicious and everyone got to enjoy a slice after all their hard work.”
