What a catch as Wellingborough trading estate welcomes fishing bait manufacturer

A fishing bait manufacturer has been reeled in and taken up a unit in Wellingborough.

Whittle Jones, the managing agents acting on behalf of Northern Trust, has confirmed that they have completed the letting of unit 79, a 1,050 sq ft unit, to Whacker Catcher Products at their Leyland estate.

Whacker Catcher Products was founded more than 30 years ago and, after moving into their fourth decade of fishing bait manufacturing, 2020 is proving to be an exciting year for the company.

All of the company’s bait is freshly made to order and has been used to catch big carp across the UK and Europe for more than 30 years.

Luke Taylor, of Whacker Catcher Products, said: “We are really excited to have upgraded our unit and machinery to incorporate our extremely fast growth since rebranding back to Whacker Catcher Products.

"The fishing industry is thriving, which as fellow anglers ourselves, before anything else is great for our sport.

"We look forward to improving our delivery times with our new capacity and getting very valued customers their bait quicker for their upcoming fishing trips."

Caroline Jones, lettings manager at Whittle Jones, said: “We are delighted to help Whacker Catcher Products find their new home with us on Leyland Trading Estate.

The Leyland trading estate comprises of a range of terraces of modern industrial/warehouse units and is home to more than 100 businesses.

Chris Abbott, estates manager at Leyland Trading Estate, added: “The move from Whacker Catcher was one of seven lets agreed on site this month and activity levels

have been rising since the lockdown restrictions were partially lifted.
