A North Northamptonshire charity, which supports palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses, has praised the work of a Kettering-based recruitment consultancy who ‘have the right approach’.

Cransley Hospice Trust reached out to Wills Consultants to help them recruit finance manager Scott Mulligan earlier this year and CEO Philip Talbot was impressed with the service they received.

He said: “We use different recruitment agencies depending on the specialism we need. We wanted to use a local consultancy, where possible, and Wills Consultants had the skills and expertise in the field we wanted.”

As an organisation that supports the locality, it was important to the Trust to use a local supplier and recruit someone in the local labour market.

“We look to use local people because we represent a local organisation,” said Philip. “We use quantitative and qualitative measures to assess our suppliers and Wills offered the level of professionalism we were looking for in our local marketplace.

“They answered our questions and followed through on their offer, dealing with any issues we had and offering advice. They had the right approach for us and that makes a big difference. They had great experience, and they achieved what we asked them to achieve.”

Co-founder and director of Wills Consultants Nikki Wills said: “It was a real pleasure to work with Philip and the rest of the team at Cransley Hospice Trust to help them with their recruitment needs. It is just as important to us as it is to them to work closely with local organisations and help to boost the local economy with our placements.

“Finance is one of our key specialisms, so we were well placed to find the right hire for the Trust. We also believe that professionalism and honesty are the driving force behind our success, so it is fantastic to hear that Philip experienced both of those values. We hope to help the Trust again in future if they have any need.”
