Over-60s in Wellingborough are invited to an open day at McCarthy and Stone’s Rosebud Court Retirement Living development in Westfield Road.

The open day is by appointment only in order to maintain social distancing for all, and is a chance to learn about the lifestyle on offer and take a look inside the last remaining two-bedroom apartment.

McCarthy and Stone has seen fewer cases of Covid-19 within its developments - 27 per cent lower than the wider over-65s population, and four times below the general over-85 population.

Bosses say this is thanks to the 'unique' nature of its communities, which provide independent living in private apartments with a tailored level of care and support.

Samantha Watkins, deputy divisional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone, said: “For many of us lockdown has made us reassess our housing needs, and with restrictions

easing slightly and the recent stamp duty exception coming into force we are seeing more retirees deciding to take the plunge and to downsize their home to something more suitable.

"Low maintenance living that allows our customers to stay independent for longer, but with the safety and security that being part of a community affords, is the perfect ‘third way’ for those that may have benefited from some extra support during lockdown.

“Our communities really do have a positive impact on the health and well-being of our customers – something that has never been more important than right now. “

One-to-one appointments can be made between 11am and 4pm on Friday, August 28, by calling 0800 2014741.

The last remaining apartment is priced at £239,950 or monthly rental options are also available.

As this is the last chance to move to the development, McCarthy and Stone will also help in selling any dependent property, with £2,500 towards estate agent fees, £1,000 towards legal fees (for use of a panel solicitor), and comprehensive removals service.

Facilities include a homeowner’s lounge, a convenient guest suite and on-site parking.

24-hour emergency call points provide added peace-of-mind and a house manager takes care of the running of the development.
