Kettering vintage clothes shop boss 'buzzing' as he prepares to open store in city Urban Outfitters
A Kettering entrepreneur whose business started in his sister’s bedroom says he’s ‘buzzing’ as he prepares to open a store inside a city’s major fashion retail shop.
Jack Tavener is the owner of Groovy Garage, which was set up in 2017 and sells vintage clothing online as well as from their shop above Storm in Kettering’s Gold Street.
The firm has hosted many pop-up shops – including a foray into Europe – and is now set to launch a ‘first of its kind’ concept streetwear outlet inside Nottingham’s Urban Outfitters on August 28.
Former Latimer Arts College pupil Jack said: "We are so excited. It’s been a long time coming and we’re buzzing to have the opportunity to open here.

"Urban Outfitters is one of the biggest fashion retailers out there and they have got stores worldwide.
"If we open in one you never know what could happen – there may be more as it’s a big opportunity.”
Groovy Garage tapped into the huge market of pre-loved designer gear, with their branded wavey garms proving popular with students.
The Kettering shop will remain open, while the new Groovy Garage in Nottingham’s Urban Outfitters will create two new jobs and will be open every day.
Jack’s business has come a long way from its early days. It’s gone from selling clothes from his sister’s old bedroom to a rail at The Yards, then to their first permanent store and now linking up with a major retailer.
The 28-year-old said: “Never in a million years did I think this would happen when we started. We’ve put a lot of work in and built a great relationship.”
