Kettering hair and beauty salon opening second site

A Kettering salon is preparing to open its second site, making it the only hairdressing business in the town to have two separate premises.

The Green Room, a hair and beauty salon, opened in Avondale Road in October 2018 and will be opening its second site in Horse Market on July 4 after its May opening date was delayed during lockdown.

Salon owner Chloe Jones, 30, said: "The opening of the new salon has all been pushed back due to lockdown and Covid-19, but in a way it's been a huge blessing as it's allowed me to design the salon around the social distancing rules.

"Having two salons has allowed me to split the staff between salons and ensuring we are always sticking to the rules as our clients' health and safety is key to us."

The Green Room will have procedures in place to protect clients, including infrared thermometers to check temperatures on arrival, hand wash basins at the front door, sneeze shields as basins, movable hair cutting units, visors and other PPE.

When Chloe first opened The Green Room, it was just her but now the team includes five other members of staff after demand grew. There is now a two month waiting list to get an appointment with Chloe.

The salon's popularity meant Chloe could open a second site, and she said: "The new salon will be opening on July 4 in line with the government guidelines with some new incredible staff members that are raring to go!

"They will be offering incredible discounts for all new clients."

There will be new hairdressers, beauticians, and therapists including a lash and skin specialist, a nail artist and a hair-up and wedding specialist.

Chloe added: "I can't thank everyone enough for the support I've had, I honestly can't believe my dream is becoming a reality. I'm so excited for all our clients to see the new salon."
