Housebuilder begins phased re-opening of Northants construction sites

A housing developer with sites in Northamptonshire has announced that it will begin a phased re-opening.

Barratt Developments, parent company of Barratt and David Wilson Homes, started the re-opening on five sites today (May 11), where work on sold plots at advanced stages of construction is being prioritised.

The company has created a detailed set of working protocols so that the sites can operate in line with Government guidelines, which include a social distancing marshal.

Work will begin once again at sites including, The Brackens in Brackley, Lyveden Fields in Corby, Bertone Manor in Barton Seagrave, The Wickets in Earls Barton and The Nurseries in Thrapston.

Richard Brooke, regional managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes,, said: “Our first priority is the health and safety of our employees, sub-contractors and customers.

“We have created a detailed set of working practices and protocols for employees and sub-contractors to ensure that we can reopen our construction sites safely, in a phased and measured way, which minimises risk.

“In line with our commitment to put our customers first, we will be prioritising the completion of those homes that our customers have already exchanged or reserved.

“I would also like to thank our employees who have been fantastic during this challenging time, both those who have worked hard to get us ready to restart and our employees who are not currently working.”

The housebuilder’s sales centres and show homes will remain closed, but house buyers can still contact Barratt or David Wilson Homes.
